Overview
Must have open availability as you will drive company van. Starting time depends on route but somewhere between 7 am and 8 am ending at 6 pm daily Monday through Friday. Must be dependable, punctual, trainable, and flexible.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate wheelchair-accessible vans and other commercial vehicles adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing respectful and compassionate support for individuals with mobility needs.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Navigate efficiently through designated routes for scheduled pickups, drop-offs, or special events, maintaining punctuality and reliability.
  • Communicate clearly with passengers, team members, and dispatchers to coordinate schedules, relay important information, and address any concerns professionally.
  • Handle heavy lifting when necessary to secure wheelchairs or assist with passenger belongings safely.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage logs, safety checks, and passenger interactions in compliance with company policies.

Experience

  • Prior experience working as a wheelchair driver is highly desired.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with diverse populations.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle maintenance tasks or basic vehicle troubleshooting as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type being operated; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred but not required.
