Key Job Responsibilities: Develops and designs the overall navigation flow, layout of specific pages, and creation of individual graphic elements; ensures that all design elements, templates, and finished solutions work within a variety of browser types and screen settings along with the constraints set by development and design Develops and implements strategic digital media initiatives, priorities, objectives, and best practices in collaboration with leadership and other functional work units Implements graphical and style standards for web sites Provides design maintenance of websites and other electronic publications and applications Serves as a subject matter expert and unit liaison to other departments to design graphics and layouts Department: Marketing and University Communications Compensation: Competitive compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience. Required Qualifications: Associate’s degree from a 2-year college or Bachelor’s degree university in web or graphic design, digital design, strategic marketing or communication, or related communications or business field Two to five years of experience working as a web designer, UI/UX designer, front-end developer, multimedia designer, digital content producer, or equivalent role Strong understanding of accessibility standards and practices for consistent implementation (e.g., WCAG 2.1 AA compliance) Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP Strong attention to detail, problem solving, team, project and time management skills Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills Creative thinking skills with an ability to bring forward new ideas Preferred Qualifications: Experience migrating websites Demonstrated experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), including technical SEO and GEO knowledge, keyword research, on-page and off-page SEO, and analytics and data interpretation Experience with Google Analytics 4 and DubBot Conditions of Appointment: This position may be fully remote, contingent upon the approval of a telecommuting request.
