Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling steel materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse management systems, mechanical knowledge, and quality control, contributing to the efficient operation of our logistics processes.

Responsibilities

  • Handling materials efficiently, including loading, unloading, and moving stock throughout the warehouse
  • Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and effectively
  • Managing inventory using warehouse management systems to ensure accurate stock levels
  • Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring timely delivery
  • Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
  • Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and verification of goods
  • Conducting quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity
  • Performing heavy lifting tasks safely as required during stock movement and storage activities
  • Supporting mechanical maintenance tasks when necessary to ensure equipment functionality
  • Ensuring the warehouse remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations

Requirements

  • Proven experience in warehousing or logistics operations preferred
  • Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
  • Experience operating forklifts; valid certification is advantageous
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes
  • Ability to perform picking & packing tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for equipment maintenance support
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and quality control
  • Physical fitness for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or moving within the warehouse environment
  • Previous experience in shipping & receiving is desirable
  • A proactive attitude towards safety protocols and teamwork skills

Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
