Supervisor- Leeds

Job Introduction

At Whittard of Chelsea, we’ve been sharing the joy of tea, coffee and hot chocolate since 1886. We believe in curiosity, quality, and the kind of service that turns everyday moments into something memorable. Now, we’re looking for a Retail Supervisor to help lead our in-store experience-and ensure every shift runs smoothly, successfully, and with a splash of Whittard magic.

You’ll need to be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, key trading days, and during our opening period. We require availability of a minimum of 5 days out of 7.

A Day in the Life

As a Supervisor, you’re more than a keyholder-you’re a leader on the shop floor and a trusted support to the management team. From opening the doors to energising the team and making sure every detail’s in place, you’ll make each day feel organised, customer-focused and commercially sharp.

You’ll be:

  • Customer Obsessed
Leading by example, you’ll deliver exceptional service that brings our products to life-inviting customers to discover, taste and enjoy. You’ll empower your team to be friendly, proactive and informed, creating loyal customers who return again and again.
  • Operationally Sharp
Whether it’s cash handling, deliveries, visual merchandising or health and safety, you’ll take pride in a well-run store. You’ll follow key processes, manage stock efficiently, and ensure everything’s in place for a great customer and colleague experience.
  • A Team Energiser
You’ll take the lead during shifts-organising daily activities, assigning tasks, and keeping everyone on track. You’ll give clear direction, offer on-the-spot coaching, and help build confidence in those around you.
  • Commercially Switched-On
By reviewing store performance, KPIs and commercial data, you’ll make smart decisions that drive sales. From adapting team focus to adjusting layouts or sampling, you’ll understand how to turn insight into impact.
  • A Bridge Between Teams
Acting as the link between sales advisors and store management, you’ll keep communication flowing, solve challenges as they arise, and create a culture where everyone feels heard, supported, and motivated.

And when the management team is away, you’ll take the reins-ensuring the store runs just as smoothly and successfully in their absence.

What Makes You Exceptional?

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, structure, and a passion for helping others succeed.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in a supervisory or team lead role in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • A confident, hands-on approach to delegating and leading shifts.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, problem-solving attitude.
  • Commercial awareness-you know how to read the numbers and turn them into action.
  • A commitment to customer service, always looking for ways to surprise and delight.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and pride in being a Whittard ambassador.

Why Whittard?

At Whittard, we do more than sell tea, coffee and hot chocolate-we create moments of discovery. As a Retail Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in delivering those moments every day. You’ll be supported by a passionate team, encouraged to grow, and celebrated for what you bring.

You’ll also enjoy:

  • Up to 50% store discount – discover your new favourites!
  • Monthly product allowance – a little perk with every pay cheque.
  • Wellbeing resources & family-friendly policies – because we care about the whole you.
  • And much much more
