Software Development Engineer in Test

As a SDET on the PayPal Ads Engineering (Mobile) team, you’ll perform detailed manual and exploratory testing to ensure high-quality mobile ad experiences across iOS and Android, collaborating with developers and product managers to validate new features and ensure release readiness.

  • Implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staff
  • Follows well-established internal conventions and standard procedures
  • Understands internal standards & processes and applies them to make technical decisions
  • Collaborates with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutions
  • May contribute to code & design reviews

Skills

  • 1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staff
  • Follows well-established internal conventions and standard procedures
  • Understands internal standards & processes and applies them to make technical decisions

  • Hands-on experience testing mobile applications, including use of Firebase, emulators/simulators, and device labs for functional and regression validation
  • Ability to analyze observability metrics and dashboards to verify analytics instrumentation and support root-cause troubleshooting
  • Experience with cross-browser and cross-session web testing, including cookie and tracking validation for consistent user behavior across environments
  • Proficient with developer tools and browser inspectors to analyze network requests, debug issues, and decode JWT tokens for authentication and session analysis
  • Skilled in using HTTP request inspection tools such as Charles Proxy, Fiddler, or Proxyman to capture network traces and produce detailed, data-driven bug reports
