Job Summary

We are hiring a Sr Software Engineer (Frontend) to join the AI Core team to design, build, and scale modern web applications and developer-facing platforms that power AI-enabled experiences across Ad Platforms.

In this role, you will develop scalable, performant, and intuitive user interfaces for AI-driven applications, internal platforms, and engineering tooling. You will partner closely with AI platform engineers, backend teams, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality frontend systems that integrate seamlessly with AI services and shared platform capabilities.

This position is hands-on and product-focused, with responsibility for building production-ready frontend applications, influencing UI architecture, and helping shape the user experience for next-generation AI-enabled systems used across Disney’s Ad Platforms organization.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

Frontend Engineering and Application Development

  • Build modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and contemporary frontend frameworks.

  • Design and implement reusable UI components, shared libraries, and scalable frontend architectures.

  • Develop responsive, performant, and accessible interfaces that meet enterprise production standards.

  • Integrate frontend systems with backend APIs, AI services, and platform infrastructure.

  • Contribute to frontend architecture decisions, code quality standards, and engineering best practices.

  • Build and maintain scalable UI components and frontend architectures aligned with enterprise design systems and shared UI standards.

AI-Enabled Experience Development

  • Build interfaces for AI-powered workflows such as agent dashboards, evaluation tools, automation consoles, and prompt tooling.

  • Implement UI patterns supporting real-time updates, streaming model responses, and data visualization.

  • Collaborate with AI engineers to translate model capabilities into intuitive user experiences.

  • Debug and optimize frontend performance for applications integrating AI services.

Technical Collaboration and Ownership

  • Partner with product managers, designers, and platform teams to deliver scalable user-facing capabilities.

  • Lead or contribute to system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions for frontend platforms.

  • Work cross-functionally across engineering teams to ensure consistent UX patterns and shared UI standards.

  • Provide mentorship, code reviews, and technical guidance to other engineers when needed.

  • Take ownership of frontend architecture for major features or platform surfaces.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s preferred), or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience building modern web applications in production environments

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and modern frontend architecture patterns

  • Experience integrating frontend systems with APIs and distributed backend services

  • Experience building scalable UI systems or complex enterprise-grade applications

  • Familiarity with testing frameworks, CI/CD workflows, and modern engineering practices

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building interfaces for AI-powered systems, developer platforms, or internal tooling

  • Experience working with real-time data, streaming APIs, or event-driven UI architectures

  • Familiarity implementing applications using enterprise design systems or component libraries

  • Experience contributing to or maintaining design systems at scale

  • Experience integrating cloud-hosted services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Exposure to observability, monitoring, or performance analytics tools

  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards and UI consistency across large product ecosystems

Experience with:

  • React-based applications and component architecture

  • Interactive dashboards, internal platforms, or developer tooling

  • Production-scale frontend systems

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is between $141,900 – $190,300, Seattle, WA is between $148,700 - $199,400 and San Francisco, CA is between $155,400 - $208,400. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
