BRG experts have extensively advised clients and their outside counsel to assess allegations and facts at issue. We are experienced in litigation and domestic and international arbitration, and include professional engineers, project management professionals, registered architects, AACE Certified Planning and Scheduling Professionals, Certified Public Accountants, Certified Fraud Examiners, forensic accountants, and industry leaders. We are currently seeking a seasoned professional with forensics and litigation advisory experience for our construction practice. We are currently looking for a Senior Managing Consultant with a forensics accounting and disputes background. This person will have an engineering and construction background that has a desire to work in a consulting firm advising clients. You must be a highly motivated problem solver with solid analytical ability, strong organizational skills, and a desire to advance within the organization. The work of a Senior Managing Consultant will involve both execution and oversight of engagement work streams that may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and responsibilities include: management of junior staff, design of statistical and financial analysis, modeling of financial data and markets, quality control, development and presentation of client deliverables, management of existing client relationships, industry research, and expansion of business. • Understanding of engagement and client needs through discussions directly with the client or taking directions from senior management or expert of BRG. • Obtain understanding of the business drivers that underpin the relevant financial analysis. • Examine and interpret case related information to produce in-depth and detail‑orientated analysis, identifying further research that needs to be carried out, and which leads need to be investigated to support case development. • Analyze and interrogate large amounts of financial data and present findings coherently using Excel. • Assist with conducting interviews with a range of stakeholders. • Support case work by using Excel and PowerPoint to provide diagrammatic and pictorial explanations to present key findings and patterns identified. • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across BRG's offices and various business practices. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field required. Master's degree or equivalent experience highly preferred. • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification required. • Minimum of six (6+) years of experience working for an accounting or advisory firm in an audit or forensic accounting capacity. • Big 4 or other large accounting and/or advisory firm experience required. • Experience with research software such as LexisNexis, Factiva, JSTOR, Bloomberg, and Capital IQ are desirable. • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements (e.g., GAAP, and the relationship between debits and credits and statement of cash flow, income statement, balance sheet, and trial balance). • Advanced user of Excel in addition to other bolthires Office products. • Capability with relational database program(s) are desirable (e.g., MS SQL Server, MS Access, MySQL, Oracle), statistical analysis programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R, and Python).
