We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager to join the Mable engineering group. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded technical leader able to work as a technical, team and people leader. This role reports to the CTO and is responsible for leading a number of Engineering squads both in technical direction and architecture as well as delivery and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the senior engineering leadership team to help build a quality engineering organisation 
  • Assist squad leaders to maintain their backlog providing assistance with architecture and stakeholder management.
  • Collaborate with engineering practice leads to improve core engineering practices across backend, front end, infrastructure and quality practices
  • Help to monitor squads delivery cadence and work with a team on improving on their efficiency
  • Promote sound, modern engineering practices and tools within the squads (TDD, pair programming, efficient branching strategies, etc)
  • Teach and mentor your squads on making sound technology choices, software design practices and the ways of working 
  • Mentor and grow Engineers under your care
  • Collaborate on and recommend sound DevOps practices in the teams
  • Manage direct reports - Engineering Team Leads in each of your squads

  • Strong technical background in general engineering
