Senior Development Engineer CAMO Engineering (Qatari National)

About the Role:

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an opportunity to join CAMO, Engineering department as Senior Development Engineer, based in Doha, Qatar.

This role will support Airframes & Avionics Engineering team for Boeing fleet. Ensure that aircraft compliant with all required airworthiness regulations and at an acceptable level of reliability, well maintained to support QTR and/or contracted fleet operational requirements.

Accountabilities include but not limited to:

Operational:

  • Evaluate Technical Documentation (Airworthiness Directives (AD)/ Consignes de Navigabilite (CN)/ Service Bulletin (SB)/ Service Information Letter (SIL)/ Operator Information Telex (01T)/ Vendor Service Bulletin (VSB)/ Technical Follow up (TFU) issued by airworthiness authorities, aircraft manufacturers or vendors and take necessary action in a timely manner (e.g. issue Engineering Order, Engineering Special Work Card, Component Modification Advise, Technical Notice etc.)
  • Evaluate technical and commercial proposals, retrofit modification orders and corporate Engineering Change requests.
  • Evaluate, analyse and find solutions to problems related to components and systems that exceed alert levels in Reliability Reports, issue necessary Technical Literature and coordinate with various in-house departments, vendors and manufacturers accordingly.
  • Initiate campaign inspection, modifications as applicable, and coordinate with all concerned to ensure their timely accomplishment.
  • Investigate TORs/MORs/ASRs Recommend corrective measures as required.
  • Communicate with Manufacturer, vendors and internal departments/sections on technical and project issues, as required from time to time and assist them on technical matters.
  • Recommend amendments to Aircraft Maintenance Program and MEL under Airworthiness Authority guidelines and Qatar Airways specific maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare product specifications and assist Commercial Departments in preparing request for information.
  • Request for Proposal and Purchase Agreement documents for selection of new components and systems.
  • Review Engineering data and drawings for accuracy before embodiment.
  • Evaluate technical specifications of new and used aircraft and equipment for possible induction. Define the layout and specifications to satisfy Qatar Airways and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead specific technical projects and function as focal points as directed by the management. Assume the responsibilities of a team leader for assigned projects and tasks.
  • Lead a team of Engineering Development Engineers and provide instructions and guidance to perform the duties. Check technical accuracy of the work performed by the junior team members

Qualifications

About You:

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience
  • Job related and supervisory experience of airworthiness / reliability / technical support engineer role in a continuing airworthiness maintenance organization of a reputed airline.
  • Experience in aircraft and systems operated by Qatar Airways.
  • Expertise in Airframes & Avionics
  • Experience in usage of Skywise, Airbus World, My Boeing Fleet, Airplane Health Management and Maintenance Performance Toolbox.
  • Aircraft certifying experience.
  • Airbus and Boeing documentation experience
  • Experience in using TRAX or AMOS preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Fluent verbal and written communication in English
