Objective Mixbook is looking for a highly experienced and creative Senior Artistic Director to lead the artistic direction for Mixbook’s next generation of visual storytelling through the automation of photo books and future digital artifacts. This is a unique opportunity to define and implement cohesive visual and thematic continuity across multiple digital art forms that exist digitally and could eventually be printed. The ideal candidate will be a senior-level visual design professional (Art Director/Creative Director) with a strong portfolio showcasing work across various mediums, including both digital and print. This role will involve collaborating with other specialists on the creative team (designers, motion designers, video editors, etc.). This position is remote in Europe, Central or South America and will be collaborating with teammates across the US as well as in Eastern Europe. Preferred time zones are between UTC -5 and UTC +1. You Will Directing the aesthetic • Adopt and refine creative direction for Mixbook's interactive art forms, including digital magazines, cinematic videos, and 3D collages. • Create common aesthetic themes applicable across all interactive art forms within a story. • Develop implementation guidelines for creative teams working across different media. • Ensure all deliverables are provided in digital formats and are adaptable to future media formats. • Oversee the quality of the creative output across all next generation art forms. Hands-on creative execution • Produce comprehensive creative asset libraries, including graphic elements, typography, backgrounds, and textures. • Ensure visual and thematic continuity across all specified media formats based on established Art Direction Guidelines. • Balance cohesion with medium-appropriate creative expression. • Creative output should appeal to the bolthires audience while pushing creative boundaries. • Be available for feedback and revision sessions. Team collaboration • Collaborate closely with Mixbook and internal teams (designers, product managers, engineers) to align on project timelines and deliverables. • Participate in weekly progress meetings and provide written updates on project progress. • Oversee and manage other specialized contractors (e.g., graphic designers, video editors, 3D artists, motion designers, illustrators) to ensure consistent application of artistic direction. Deliverables • 30-40 Aesthetic themes including mood boards, color palettes, typography system, texture and material direction, and key visual motifs and graphic elements across each medium with usage guidelines • Creative asset libraries with curated ingredients to distinguish each aesthetic theme • Implementation guidelines for each theme and style guides defining consistent elements across media. • Decision trees for maintaining aesthetic continuity • Quality assurance checklist for creative review You Have • Senior-level experience (10+ years) in artistic or creative direction, with a strong portfolio demonstrating work across a variety of print and digital mediums (e.g., digital magazines, video, 3D, web, print). • Proven ability to establish and maintain visual and thematic continuity across diverse platforms. • Experience in developing comprehensive creative guidelines and asset libraries. • Strong understanding of current design trends and ability to push creative boundaries while maintaining brand consistency. • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. • Proficiency with industry-standard design software and tools. #LI- Remote Our Mission & Culture At Mixbook, our mission is to empower people to be creative and connect deeply with the ones they love.
