School Registered Nurse (RN) - 2025/2026 School Year!

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is seeking passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. We have immediate openings for nurses to work in various capacities within school settings, including general school nursing / health office, one-on-one care for special needs students, and providing healthcare support during school trips.

As a School Registered Nurse (RN) in Brooklyn, you will play a vital role in providing health services to students.

CURRENT OPENINGS for Registered Nurses Include:

  • Provide direct one on one nursing care in school for special needs students.
  • Provide direct one on one nursing care during a school trip.
  • School Nurse in a health office.

Responsibilities:

For One-to-One Nurse:

  • Provide one-on-one nursing care to students with special medical needs, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and addressing any health concerns or emergencies that may arise.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with parents, healthcare providers, and school personnel to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on the student's health status and progress.
  • Advocate for the student's health and educational needs within the school setting, ensuring that they have access to appropriate accommodations and support services.

For Health Office Nurse:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students and staff who visit the health office for various health concerns, including minor injuries, illnesses, and medication administration.
  • Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health issues and provide appropriate interventions or referrals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, including immunization records, health history, and medication administration logs.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to develop and implement health policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy school environment.
  • Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.

RN School Nurse Job Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse in New York: You must hold a valid and active Registered Nurse license in the state of New York.
  • Current BLS Certification: Possession of current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to ensure readiness in emergency situations.
  • One (1) year of professional nursing experience
