The Sales & Merchandising Manager is responsible for driving sales performance, overseeing store operations, and creating a best-in-class customer experience. This role balances leadership and hands-on responsibilities across sales, inventory management, merchandising, and marketing initiatives, ensuring the store consistently delivers on revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction goals.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Customer Experience

  • Actively sell to customers and support the sales team in achieving and exceeding revenue and margin goals.
  • Coach, train, and enable sales staff to improve performance, elevate customer service standards, and increase close rates.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and ensure issues are resolved to maintain strong client relationships.
  • Promote a culture of high customer service standards, ensuring every shopper enjoys a positive and memorable experience.
  • Participate in developing and implementing sales plans to create a culture of accountability and to ensure a continued focus on sales performance
  • Support sales enablement at the DT Waynesville store 2-3 days per week to increase conversion and sales (or daily engagement)

Store Operations & Inventory Management

  • Manage stock levels by monitoring inventory, placing and maintaining stock orders, and tracking vendor performance.
  • Implement regular tagging and markdown processes to keep inventory fresh and optimize sell-through.
  • Strategically source, allocate and negotiate vendor prices and freight charges
  • Manage inventory levels, open orders of stock inventory coming in, and replenishment needs.

Merchandising & Store Presentation

  • Oversee merchandising with store upkeep, ensuring attractive, on-brand displays that maximize sales opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting showroom environment.
  • Continuously refresh floor layouts and product groupings to highlight key items, promotions, and high-margin products.

Team Management & Development

  • Provide ongoing training and development to enhance sales skills, product knowledge, and customer engagement across the entire 4-store organization.
  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Full time work In person at Main Waynesville store + occasionally other locations
  • 9AM-5:30PM Monday - Saturday (With 1 Flex Day During Week)
  • Present for retail holiday weekends
