What You’ll Be Doing
 
Reporting to the Finance Manager of Publishing, you will play a critical role in the publishing lifecycle by managing contract administration and the royalty reporting process.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
 
  • Managing Royalty Lifecycles: Collate sales reports and execute 6-monthly royalty reporting for Australian publishing divisions using Metacomet.
  • Drafting & Administering Contracts: Facilitate the creation and filing of contracts for authors, illustrators, and consignment publishers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact for authors and literary agents regarding royalty queries and statement distribution.
  • System Integrity: Maintain accurate records across key platforms like Firebrand and Metacomet to ensure data accessibility and compliance.
  • Special Projects: Support the onboarding of digital products and historical data migration into royalty management systems.
What You’ll Bring
 
  • Administrative Excellence: 2-3 years experience in contract administration, filing, or office support.
  • High Attention to Detail: A commitment to accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Communication Skills: The ability to provide superior customer service to internal teams and external partners.
  • Organizational Prowess: Ability to meet strict deadlines for royalty submissions and contract execution.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfort learning and using specialized software systems.
 
Bonus Points For
  • Previous experience with Metacomet, Firebrand, or ProSpend.

  • Familiarity with publishing workflows, copyright registration, or royalty structures.

  • Basic understanding of invoicing and sales report reconciliation.
