RN SANE - Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner

Description: RN—Registered Nurse—A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) RN provides specialized medical and forensic care to victims of sexual assault, including conducting forensic examinations, collecting evidence, offering support and resources, and potentially serving as an expert witness in legal proceedings in Contra Costa County. Earn as much as $650 per case, plus additional pay for on-call and administrative hours with the nation's leading staffing agency.

RN—Registered Nurse—SANE RN Requirements:

  • Must have SANE-A (Adult) SANE-P (Pediatric) certification issued by CALSAFE or IAFN
  • Conducting Forensic Examinations: SANEs perform comprehensive medical and forensic examinations of sexual assault victims, including collecting evidence like DNA samples, swabs, and photographs.
  • Providing Medical Care: They assess and treat injuries resulting from sexual assault, providing necessary medical interventions and follow-up care.
  • Offering Support and Resources: SANEs offer emotional support, guidance, and resources to survivors, helping them navigate the aftermath of the assault and connect with relevant services.
