[Remote] EXTERNAL AFFAIRS MANAGER -STATE GOVERNMENT RELATIONS - 2 OPENINGS

The External Affairs Manager - State Government Relations will support and lead multi-state legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts, developing strategies and building relationships with policymakers to advance community-based and rural health care providers. Responsibilities • Lead multi- state government relations strategies aligned with organizational priorities • Track, analyze, and influence state legislation and regulations • Draft testimony, comment letters, and policy/data briefs • Build relationships with legislators, agencies, coalitions, and members • Represent OCHIN in hearings, workgroups, and advocacy forums • Other duties as assigned Skills • Minimum of 5 years of multi-state government relations experience required • Experience executing multi-state government health care legislative initiatives required • Demonstrated success influencing state policy outcomes • Strong writing and advocacy skills • Skilled at producing high-quality advocacy materials to support state advocacy and member engagement • Prior to moving forward to the team interview, all candidates are required to complete a 50–60-minute competency assessment. The assessment gives us insights into how your strengths, preferences, and work style align with the OCHIN's nine core competencies. It's not about passing or failing—it's about understanding fit and setting you up for success • Travel up to 70% is required for this position • Bachelor's degree preferred • Experience /working knowledge in health information technology highly preferred. Candidates with this experience will be given priority • Experience with community health centers and/or rural hospitals highly preferred.
