[Remote] Director of Training & Learning and Development

They are seeking a Director of Training & Learning Development responsible for overseeing the planning, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs, as well as evaluating trainer performance and developing learning strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Leads the training and learning development teams ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for multiple ops teams, team leaders, supervisors, and managers
  • Forecasts training needs to C-suite and VP leadership and anticipates training in advance of onboarding new business
  • Create training content on new products, features, service offerings, and internal systems
  • Plans and executes learning and development strategies for leaders and employees within the organization
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and resources to instruct staff on operational procedures, policies, and tools
  • Ensure training resources and delivery methods are continually updated to meet organizational needs
  • Assess employee needs for training and development of staff
  • Assess training effectiveness by reviewing and analyzing staff performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
  • Define future learning requirements by identifying gaps in knowledge and performance
  • Uses reporting and analytical tools to strategize innovative learning methodologies, focusing on learner retention, minimizing knowledge gaps, and identifying training needs per department, team and individual
  • Create and maintain training budgets
  • Oversee learning curriculum, activities, and resources
  • Creatively designs, introduces, and enforces new training and learning development programs
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external partners to launch transformative learning programs
  • Monitor the execution of both short-term and long-term functional strategies to ensure the success of training initiatives

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in training, learning development, human resource management, or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in Learning and Development or a related field, with a strong track record in designing and implementing training programs
  • Health Plan experience required
  • Proficiency in leveraging tools to support enhanced learning and Learning Management Systems
  • Proven experience managing a team and collaborating with various functional teams
  • Understanding of traditional and modern training methods including workshops, instructor-led training, e-learning, and simulations
  • Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to training and learning development functions
  • Understanding of training in both live and virtual training environments
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
  • Experience working with training vendors and managing external training partnerships
  • In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and modern learning techniques
  • Ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and innovate in training delivery
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies
  • Master's degree preferred in any of the fields or related fields listed above
