Quality Control Inspector

SUMMARY:

A Quality Inspector monitors tests and examines products or materials at various stages of production to ensure they meet company, safety, and industry standards. They identify defects, document findings, and, if necessary, halt production or reject, return, and rework sub-standard goods, must be highly organized, detail-oriented and have strong problem-solving skills. Work closely with other departments to maintain a high level of compliance in all regulated activities.

Excellent written and verbal presentation and communications skills required. Demonstrates ability to carry out assignments in a timely, accurate manner and accomplishing tasks as required with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspection of products and components to ensure that the products comply with the relevant design requirements.
  • Test a certain percentage of all products based on industry standards.

· Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

· Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.

  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work, and inputting data into quality database.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Evaluate and process Non-Conformance issues.
  • Continuous improvement of QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
  • Analyze failures, corrective and preventive actions to respond to customer complaints.
  • Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct audits.
  • Conduct internal/supplier audits, including resolution of corrective action requests.
  • Report problems or concerns to senior management immediately.
  • Trend data and prepare QA reports.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as required.
  • Provide training and support to QA team as needed.
  • Other needed duties may be assigned at the discretion of Quality Assurance Management.

Qualification/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 plus years of experience in quality control or quality assurance position.
  • ISO 13485 certification is preferred but not required
  • Analytical, logical thought process and meticulous attention to detail
  • Positive, results-oriented and energetic team player
  • Ability to translate skills and knowledge to others
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Documentation skills

· Reporting skills and Blueprint reading skills.

· High school diploma required.

· Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
