Your impact

Jacobs is seeking a Project Director – Rail to support the delivery of transformative rail and mobility projects in Dubai. In this role, you will take the ownership of overseeing and managing the entire lifecycle of rail projects. You will use your extensive knowledge, expertise, and experience in high-speed rail infrastructure, project management, and industry best practices. You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring project objectives are met within scope, budget, and schedule. You'll need a flair for collaboration and forming robust relationships to ensure successful interfaces with stakeholders to deliver successful high-speed rail projects.



Here’s what you will do:



  • Provide overall leadership and direction to high-speed rail projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Define project scope, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies. Oversee the execution of project activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgetary constraints.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge and experience in high-speed rail infrastructure, engineering, and operations to provide strategic guidance and ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitor project expenditures, and implement cost control measures to ensure financial objectives are met. Evaluate and approve project-related expenses, contracts, and change orders.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations. Establish and monitor quality benchmarks and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize potential disruptions and ensure project success.
  • Team Management: Build and lead a high-performing project team, including project managers, engineers, contractors, and support staff. Provide guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to drive team productivity and foster a positive work environment.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, procurement processes, and vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining compliance with project requirements and legal obligations.








Here's what you'll need

As a successful candidate you will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred). You will bring a diverse range of experience having worked on complex mega projects and have strong working knowledge of high-speed rail, Rail and other heavy civils projects. You will have an In-depth knowledge of high-speed rail infrastructure, engineering principles, and operational considerations alongside a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects within budget, scope, and schedule constraints. You will be able to demonstrate a strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and cost control and Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and software
