Description

Amazon is looking for a curious and versatile student to join our unique world as a Procurement intern.
If you have an interest in tendering and negotiating with suppliers, reporting, forecasting and building KPI dashboards that will support the business in optimizing their consumable orders and consumption, like creating easy to follow processes and training your business partners, Amazon Global Procurement Operations team is the place to be.

Note: You must be registered as a student for the whole duration of the internship

Key job responsibilities
This could include, but is not limited to:
• Ensuring that the FC always has the required goods/services on hand at the best available prices and terms
• Pulling source information and updating forecast models to determine weekly/monthly order quantities
• Managing materials inventory, ensuring proper stock levels with minimal operating capital
• Minimizing on-site stock holdings for all materials
• Engaging and facilitating procurement for multiple functions within Amazon: FC Operations, Facilities, Engineering, HR, Safety, Security, Transportation, and IT
• Implementing change and/or developing new processes as required to provide ability to better procure goods and services for the FC

A day in the life
This internship is an educational opportunity where you will apply your analytical and technical skills to complete an impactful project that will contribute to the functionality and level of service our team provides to our customers. Your day might start with analyzing data using your proficiency in Microsoft Excel, leveraging pivot tables and complex formulas to extract meaningful insights. As you progress through the day, you'll gain hands-on experience in material resource planning, inventory management, and forecasting, while collaborating with the accounts payable team to understand their processes. Your ability to innovate and simplify current practices will be put to the test as you work toward driving results. Throughout your internship, you'll also build on your basic understanding of accounting principles. This role offers the chance to develop your skills in a real-world setting, setting a solid foundation for your future career.
