Physician Associate

Westbury Medical Centre is looking to recruit a Physician Associate. The successful applicant will be anchored to our Surgery and will develop consistent professional relationships with the 8 other Physician Associates who are permanent members of our team, a nominated clinical supervisor GP and a professionally diverse healthcare team.<br>This GP Surgery is in Wood Green, London N22, and is a very friendly GP practice with very high rates of staff retention. This Surgery goes to great lengths to ensure the PA team feels supported and valued. There are two hour-long clinical tutorials per week for case-based discussions. These CBDs are ideal for learning. Appointments are 15 minutes (initially 20mins). GP Partners have an open-door policy for any queries. The majority of PAs time will be providing contact care for patients with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems utilising their wide range of skills. Regular debriefs with supervising GP\'s take place regarding clinical cases.<br>We are looking to recruit a Physician Associate (GMC Registration essential and ideally with MSc) who is enthusiastic about primary care. No previous working primary care experience is mandatory and we are happy to consider a newly qualified PA.<br>Main duties of the job This is a full-time, 37.5 hour week role.<br>The key offer for PA\'s in our Surgery is:<br>Induction programme with 2 experienced GP\'s. 8 embedded PAs in practice who are an excellent resource for training and support. PA training practice (St George\'s PA School)<br>Two weekly tutorial for all PAs with supervising GP to present cases and clinical topics. Other clinical meetings eg MDM.<br>Close support and supervision from mentor GP<br>15 minute appointments<br>Practice written Physician Associate Handbook (70 pages)<br>Varied clinical portfolio<br>GP bag and all kit provided (except stethoscope)<br>Working schedule will comprise majority time providing first point of contact care for patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems utilising clinical skills in both face to face and telephone/video clinics. Sessions will include catch up/admin time. Examples of work our other PA\'s help with includes infection control, medical report writing, safeguarding work, virtual clinic, lab results and home vist sessions.<br>Included each day is 30 minutes unpaid lunch.<br>About us CPD is encouraged by way of attending relevant courses and meetings (usually at Surgery expense). At our GP Surgery there are regular social events for staff throughout the year (e.g. boat trips, evening meals, Sunday brunches and Christmas meals).
