Part Time Cleaner

Job Title: Communal Cleaner (Student Block)
Location: L7 3AA
Hours: 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday (flexible – can work around school hours)
Contract Type: Part-time
Reporting to: On-site Caretaker / Property Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and conscientious Cleaner to maintain the communal areas of a busy student accommodation building. The successful candidate will ensure that shared spaces are clean, hygienic, and well-presented for residents and visitors. This is a part-time role with flexible working hours that can fit around school schedules. The Cleaner will be supported by the on-site Caretaker.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain communal areas including corridors, stairwells, lobbies, lifts, bin stores, and shared facilities.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all designated areas.
  • Clean internal glazing, doors, skirting, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Ensure bin areas are tidy and report any issues with waste management.
  • Replenish cleaning supplies where required.
  • Identify and report maintenance or health and safety concerns promptly.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including COSHH guidance.
  • Work efficiently within allocated hours while maintaining high standards.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Previous cleaning experience (commercial or residential).
  • Conscientious with strong attention to detail.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and punctual.
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good awareness of hygiene and safety standards.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check (required due to young adult residents).

Desirable:

  • Experience working in residential blocks, student accommodation, or similar environments.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning equipment and materials.
