Packager - Night and Weekend Shift

PrideStaff is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Packer for a manufacturing company located in Fontana, CA. This is a full-time, contract to permanent position with opportunity to grow. Please see job requirements below to be considered.
Pay Rate: $20.00 to $21.00 hourly
Shift: Monday - Friday, 3rd Shift 10:30pm to 6:00am (some overtime and weekends maybe required)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  1. Communicate any quality problems to the Crew Leader in a timely fashion.
  2. Maintain an accurate count of all pieces packed on pallets. Communicate any count deviation from the standard

VBoard packaging schedule to the Crew Leader.
  1. Place the correct shipping label onto pallet.
  2. Be conscious of the general appearance of pallets being packed.
  3. Separate all waste and dispose of properly.
  4. Adjust output slides.
  5. Oil the 8 points on head table. Prep elevation, index and stacking tables.
  6. Assist operator as needed.
  7. All other reasonable duties as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Assist in all phases of machine and department operation as needed for breaks, changes, or special projects.
  2. Keep up to date with any ongoing machine improvements.
  3. Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
  4. Foster an attitude of lean thinking, sustain improvements and follow lean initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED


The Packer must hold a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess the ability to read and
comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to
effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the
organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions
and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common
sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving
a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORKING CONDITIONS


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is
frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to
high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. The noise
level in the work environment can be loud at times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception,
and ability to adjust focus.
