Multi-skilled Technician (Facilities Management)

We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Multi-skilled Technician to join our Facilities Management team at Joseph Chamberlain College.

 

This role will report to the Facilities Manager, you will be required to deliver safe, compliant, and customer-focused Hard Facilities Management (FM) maintenance services across the JCC campus, completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), statutory checks, and reactive repairs in line with SFG20, JCC Policy, and industry guidance (including TR19 ventilation hygiene and ACOP L8 water hygiene/Legionella control). The role supports high availability of campus facilities for students, staff, and visitors.

 

As part of a college site team, there will also be a broad remit of other general duties including keyholding, opening and locking up buildings, operating fire alarms and lockdown systems and other duties to aid the smooth running of the site.

 

As a member of the JCC team, you will play a vital role in the College, which is graded as ‘outstanding’ in all categories by Ofsted. Our College excels in providing a broad, inclusive and high-quality education to all of our learners, which has resulted in some of the highest levels of progression to Higher Education in the sector.  In 2023, students at Joseph Chamberlain College achieved outstanding exam results.

Hours of work: Full-time, permanent. Hours of work will be 36.5 per week over 5 days, all year round. The working hours will be agreed by the line manager but will include a shift pattern between 6.16am and 7.15pm. You will occasionally be required to work outside normal hours including weekday evenings and weekends compensated by time off in lieu (TOIL).

 

Salary: The salary for this post will be point 17 on the support staff Sixth Form College’s salary scale, which is £34,253 FTE.
