Maritime Compliance Associate

Resolve’s Maritime Compliance Associate (Marine Compliance Dispatcher) works on-site at the Resolve’s office in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This individual will be part of a team providing mission-critical monitoring, operational risk assessment and reporting to our clients in an effort to ensure safe maritime navigation in Alaska AIS, Satellites, terrestrial Antennae, and Marine Navigation Radars.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Monitor vessel traffic scheme to detect anomalies and ensure vessel movements with minimal threat to the environment.
  • Provide briefings and reports based on analysis to the APC Operations Manager.
  • Communicate with co-workers, vessels, regulatory authorities, and clients in the event of anomalies detected.
  • Provide information as requested to client vessels and assist in regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the improvement of vessel movement planning systems.
  • Initiate response actions for a vessel emergency or oil spill in accordance with appropriate procedures.
  • Maintain detailed logs, records, and reports.
  • Participate in and support emergency response functions
  • This position operates on a 7 day 24 hour rotational basis ensuring continual safe and efficient delivery of service to our client vessels. The Maritime Compliance Associate may be required to work extended shifts, nights, weekends and holidays. This position is also subject to emergency call back during a crisis event.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School Degree plus technical training equivalent to an Associate's Degree, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
  • Excellent communication (Written and Oral) skills via radio, telephone, or email.
  • Ability to provide briefings based on analysis/findings.
  • Proficient in utilizing basic computer applications in support of analytics
  • Able to manipulate Office Product Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Google Earth, Maps
  • Capable of reading Nautical Charts, and charting on either paper or digital medium
  • Possess strong research and writing skills and be capable of effectively operating as a member of an analytic team
  • Flexibility and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Preferred Skills and Certifications:
    • Educational background in Maritime or Engineering discipline
    • Experience in Maritime Navigation and Activities
