The Ads Consumer Insights team's goal is to lead, uncover, and deliver research and insights that translate directly into product and business impact, guiding the development of advertising experiences and features enjoyed by millions of people all over the world, and by our advertising clients.<br /> The scope of this role is a tremendous opportunity for leadership and impact in a zero-to-one initiative within Netflix. This role will partner with Product, Data Science, Design, Business, Engineering and other cross-functional and research teams to understand their insights needs and develop, execute, and deliver best-in-class quantitative research to address them.<br /> The Ideal Background:<br /> • 10+ years leading mixed methods research supporting product innovation and development.<br /> • 5+ years of experience in ads; particularly understanding and balancing the tradeoffs between our business, our consumers, and our advertisers.<br /> • 3+ years of experience leading teams of researchers who specialize in qualitative/quantitative studies and various analytical approaches.<br /> • Clear, demonstrable experience as a product researcher, experience strategist, service designer, or similar role, with a proven record of seeing products from concept to delivery<br /> • Effective verbal and written communication style, distilling complex multi-method research reports into understandable, compelling, and actionable insights<br /> • Experience presenting to and consulting with senior leaders and stakeholders, ideally as part of a leadership team<br /> What You'll Be Doing:<br /> • Build a team of researchers that will represent our advertisers and consumers to surface unseen opportunities and influence the direction of our growing ads business.<br /> • Influence business decisions by encouraging creative thinking that creates major movement or shifts our direction, preventing us from making uninformed decisions or wasting resources, and improving the overall ad experience.<br /> • Partner with Design, Product Management, Engineers, and Data Scientists to create a competitive advantage for Netflix Ads.<br /> • Engage internal and external partners worldwide to uncover pain points, unmet needs, or workarounds that inspire innovations that support our growing advertising business.<br /> • Bring order to ambiguity and help the team prioritize the highest impact initiatives for the business.<br /> • Develop a team culture that promotes IC health and development, deep partnership, and trusted consultation with stakeholders.<br /> Who you are:<br /> • Your lifelong mission has been to understand people, their behaviors, attitudes, and motivators<br /> • You are comfortable putting a stake in the ground, even without all of the data you need<br /> • You actively seek out answers to questions that are verging on impossible to answer<br /> • When something needs to get done, you are the first to roll up your sleeves<br /> • You make the connections no one else sees<br /> • You stand firm in the face of change and challenge<br /> • You read the Netflix culture memo and were energized<br /> • You are quick-witted, straightforward, and succinct<br /> • You are equal parts creative and analytical<br /> • You care about the values and culture of your team<br /> Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $377,000.00 - $560,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.<br /> Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
