LUH72 Technical Inspector
<ul><li>This position is contingent on contract award.**************<br><br></li></ul>General Description<br><br>The LUH72 Aircraft Technical Inspector is responsible for ensuring that assigned aircraft are maintained within required specifications and are airworthy before operation. Inspects repairs and modification of aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.<br><br>Duties<br><br><ul><li>Plans, conducts, and supervises aircraft technical inspections. </li><li>Develops and implements quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications. </li><li>Evaluates personnel, including verification of skills, training and experience. </li><li>Performs audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment and facilities. </li><li>Examines parts and components for conformance to design specification to determine serviceability; serviceable, unserviceable-reparable, unserviceable-non reparable, affixing completed appropriate form/tag for disposition; return to stock, route to appropriate shop for repair and/or turn-in. Form/tag will contain comment relative to evaluation and be stamped by the Inspector. </li><li>Monitors timeliness and applicability of maintenance technical data and technical library. </li><li>Reviews maintenance source documents, inspection records, notes recurring discrepancies or trends and initiates appropriate action. </li><li>Manages the material deficiency and technical order improvement program. </li><li>Reviews engineering investigation requests. </li><li>Initiates and reviews quality deficiency reports, technical deficiency reports and hazardous material reports, ensuring that they are accurate, clear, concise and comprehensive. </li><li>Conducts safety inspections, training, and drills. Inspects and verifies proper completion and documentation of safety and flight discrepancies. </li><li>Briefs and debriefs pilots and crew members assigned to functional check flights. </li><li>Participates in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required. </li><li>Ensures compliance with aircraft configuration control, Army oil analysis Program and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration. </li><li>Provides lower level technicians guidance in aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards and operational policies throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.</li><li>Prepares evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance repair and related activities. </li><li>Make entries in aircraft logs and records. </li><li>Perform other qualified duties as requested.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Education And Experience Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.</li><li>One (1) year experience inspecting MDS (LUH-72) assigned.</li><li>A valid and up-to-date (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license. </li><li>A Valid FAA Inspection Authorization (IA). If no IA, shall have a minimum of five (5) years as an inspector on the MDS (LUH-72) assigned.</li><li>Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule</li><li>Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems or other technology as applicable to fabrication, repair, operation and maintenance requirements. </li><li>Efficient in record keeping and preparation of reports; capable of reviewing other people's work and determining accuracy and conformity to standards. </li><li>Proficient in the use of the Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation Enhanced (ULLS-AE), the current maintenance management system utilized to maintain Army aircraft forms and records. </li><li>Thorough comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components. </li><li>Thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. </li><li>Detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required. </li><li>Ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers. </li><li>We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.<br><br></li></ul>Physical Requirements/Working Environment<br><br>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
