Laborer / Trainee Position

The Town of Willsboro is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and energetic individual to take on the role of DPW Laborer / Trainee. This role is crucial to the maintenance and enhancement of our town's infrastructure and public spaces.

As a Laborer / Trainee, you will be actively involved in performing a variety of tasks associated with highway and public works maintenance. This includes, but is not limited to, essential duties such as road maintenance, the removal of snow and ice during winter months, operating various public works equipment, and maintaining grounds in town parks and facilities. The work environment may vary greatly, as tasks will be performed outdoors under a diverse range of weather conditions, necessitating physical endurance and the ability to adapt quickly.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A valid New York State Driver's License is required for this position.
  • Candidates must be physically capable of performing strenuous labor in various weather scenarios.
  • A willingness to learn and work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team of public works staff is essential.
  • Having a mechanical aptitude will be considered an added advantage.

Salary

Based on experience and qualifications.
