Kids/Teens Fitness Coach
Job DescriptionKids Fitness Coach – Movement, Energy & Connection Specialist
RX30 is seeking a high-level Kids Fitness Coach who can balance excellent movement coaching with high energy, fun, and meaningful connection. This is not a babysitting role and not a “run them until they’re tired” class—but it is a place where kids should feel excited to show up, supported by their coach, and connected to each other.
The ideal coach understands that movement quality always comes first, while also knowing how to create an environment that is engaging, positive, and social. Coaches must be confident teaching foundational movements—such as push-ups, squats, running, jumping, and introductory dumbbell exercises—while keeping classes upbeat, inclusive, and fun.
If you cannot correct form and bring energy, or if you struggle to connect with kids and build group chemistry, this role is not the right fit.
Core ResponsibilitiesMovement Instruction & Coaching Standards
- Teach foundational movement patterns with precision: push-ups, squats, hinges, lunges, running mechanics, jumping/landing, and basic strength movements.
- Break down movements into clear, age-appropriate steps using effective verbal and visual cues.
- Actively coach during class by observing movement, correcting form, and regressing exercises when mechanics break down.
- Enforce a strict “form before load” standard while keeping kids engaged and motivated.
Class Leadership, Energy & Engagement
- Lead classes with high energy, confidence, and enthusiasm.
- Create an environment where kids feel encouraged to try, fail, improve, and succeed.
- Keep sessions fun without sacrificing structure, safety, or movement quality.
- Use games, challenges, and positive reinforcement strategically to maintain focus and excitement.
Social Connection & Group Culture
- Foster a strong sense of community within each class.
- Encourage teamwork, peer support, and positive interaction between kids.
- Help quieter or less confident athletes feel included and supported.
- Set behavioral expectations while maintaining a welcoming, upbeat atmosphere.
Observation & Decision-Making
- Identify movement faults, compensations, and safety concerns in real time.
- Make confident decisions to slow pace, reduce load, or stop progression when needed.
- Balance technical coaching with emotional awareness and group dynamics.
Safety, Professionalism & Communication
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive training environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with parents regarding class goals, expectations, and progress.
- Represent RX30’s values of excellence, professionalism, and care.
Setup & Facility Standards
- Prepare equipment prior to class and ensure all equipment is cleaned and properly stored afterward.
Minimum Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Proven experience teaching and correcting exercise technique in children or youth athletes.
- Strong understanding of movement regressions and progressions.
- Ability to coach with confidence, clarity, and authority—without losing warmth or approachability.
- CPR & First Aid Certification (required).
- Willingness to be coached, evaluated, and held to RX30’s standards.
Preferred (Strongly Considered)
- Background in strength & conditioning, athletic development, physical education, or movement-based coaching.
- Youth fitness or S&C certification.
- Experience coaching ages 8–13+ in structured group environments.
Working Conditions
- Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability required.
- Physically able to demonstrate exercises and actively coach on the floor.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Employee discount
