We are looking for a GFO Technician who is an experienced and highly motivated Data Center Technician to install and support AWS deployments in non-traditional environments. As a GFO technician, you will maintain and operate the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure across a number of local and remote locations across Americas. Key job responsibilities This is a customer-facing role that requires strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Your activities will include (but not limited to): • Build relationships with internal teams and customers along with innovating effective solutions to meet issues & problems as they arise • Conducting site assessments at various facilities to proactively prepare for the onsite installation of AWS equipment • Installing/expanding/provisioning AWS infrastructure at the third-party premises, data center, and/or non-traditional environment • Troubleshooting network installations & configurations and performing network testing, break/fix and/or decommissioning and solving complex problems • Proactively identifying and implementing strategies that prevent support issues and/or further enhance the customer experience • Conduct day-to-day business, both internally and with external customers • Required travel up to 30% on average. You will be required to travel between locations to install, service, and retrieve AWS equipment. • Physical ability to push and/or pull heavy objects into position (regularly lift up to 18kg and participate in team lifts of 30 kg) • May lead or participate in efforts to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and tools that improve operational efficiencies • May lead larger projects that require cross-functional alignment and support, including large-DC installations, global-reaching business initiatives, and/or development of mechanisms to support growth to ensure compliance with global group standards. • May be required to work at height to maintain AWS infrastructure equipment while adhering to AWS health & safety guidelines. • Most of all, you will have a passion for technology along with a desire to be the best at your job every day!
