Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage administrative tasks, and support clinical operations. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help ensure smooth daily clinic functions while delivering exceptional patient service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out processes using EMR (Electronic Medical Record).
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes.
  • Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software; coordinate with providers to optimize daily clinic flow.
  • Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, assisting with basic medical procedures, and managing documentation review for care plans.
  • Handle patient emails ; respond promptly to patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately.

Experience

  • Prior clinic experience or medical office management experience is highly preferred. ACUPUNCTURE students Welcome
  • Knowledge of medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding is required for documentation review and billing support.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office .
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings preferred.
  • Experience working in dental or healthcare clinics involving medical billing, insurance verification, and front desk operations is a plus.
