Position: Food and Beverage Manager

Location: Homer, Alaska

Season: Onsite May through September 2026 – min. 6 days/week (remote work starts immediately)
 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Manager to oversee all dining and catering operations at our resort. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the culinary arts and restaurant management, as well as leadership skills, to ensure a high-quality experience for guests. Skills in communication, multi-task organization and flow, as well as fresh ideas for business growth are important to this roll.
 

Responsibilities:

- Manage day-to-day food and beverage operations, including dinner service and catered events for both the restaurant and event venue.

- Work closely with resort management to achieve financial goals, maintain cost controls, and continuously evaluate how the restaurant and catering aspects can complement other businesses on-site.

- Foster teamwork and professional growth among staff.

- Menu Development: continue to develop our current restaurant and catering menus, maintaining goals of fresh Alaskan flavors and sourcing local ingredients. Creativity and flexibility to customize catering events is important.

- Food Preparation: Oversee the preparation and presentation of all dishes with attention to detail and quality.

- Catering Management: Coordinate catering services for events ranging from small gatherings to large parties

- Inventory Ordering and Control: Manage inventory levels effectively, ensuring ingredients are fresh and readily available. Minimize waste and optimize cost efficiency.

- Staff Management: Hire, train, supervise, schedule, and work closely with kitchen and serving staff

- Adherence to Regulations: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food hygiene standards, and alcohol regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen, dining areas, and event space.
 

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Food and Beverage Manager or similar role in a hospitality setting.

- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work under variable conditions

- Ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and a commitment to quality service.

- Knowledge of Alaskan cuisine and sourcing local ingredients is a plus.

- Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
