Finance Data Analyst I

As a Finance Data Analyst I, you will transform data into actionable insights to support business decisions and drive analytics culture across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the adoption of analytics culture and data-driven decision-making, promoting consumer-driven analytics, and enhance the visibility of data and analytics by providing clear data stories and spreading them across the organization
  • Create, prototype, modify, test, and deploy reports to production while working closely with the end users
  • Understand data needs and translate user requirements into technical requirements
  • Analyze requests for data needs and prioritize project and ad-hoc efforts
  • Support cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights, guide business decisions, and identify optimization opportunities
  • Build, develop, and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards, technical processes, and performance metrics that support key business decisions
  • Partner with Finance and Non-Finance Leadership/stakeholders to define key analytics requirements, assess business impact, resolve cross-functional issues, and manage project challenges by escalating when necessary
  • Examine, interpret, and report results of analytical initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, technology, sales, marketing, and product teams
  • Support change management initiatives and anticipate future demands within Finance, including people, technology, budget, and business needs

Skills

  • 1 or more years of overall experience as a finance or analytics professional spread across data science, data management, analytics, FP&A, controllership, or business intelligence
  • Experience developing with Tableau, PowerBI, or similar tools
  • Experience querying data warehouses directly with complex SQL and developing reports for end-user consumption
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar
  • Experience with Python or similar programming languages
  • Exceptional analytical skills (linking results to drivers)
  • Ability to see solutions in large data sets and the business mindset to convert insights into strategic opportunities
  • Strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of databases, data warehouse structures, data mining and reporting tools
  • SAP, Essbase, Alteryx, and Snowflake experience
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and assertive individual
