Excel Expert / Data Analyst to create custom Excel Workbook for Tracking Food Ingredients
Searching for an Excel expert to create an Excel Workbook for our staff to log, record and maintain our raw inventory balances of food ingredients.
The workbook will be used to track the receipt and use of organic food ingredients for reporting back to the organic certifying agency and for keeping real time quantity and value balances of our goods. It will also track expiration dates and use by dates for specific ingredients.
The final design/layout will be determined after we discuss the project and the expert can help me identify what is feasible and best practice for routine maintenance by staff.
Initial concept would be a “master” sheet where all activity would be logged/posted by our clerk and then subsequently that activity data would distribute to the individual sheet for individual ingredients; or you the expert may have better ideas for the use of Pivot Tables and/or formulas to achieve our goals. We can discuss.
In addition to tracking quantities and cost values, we would also like the workbook to generate some basic productivity reports from the data. For example, a report by date and by employee of how many retail units were packaged for retail sale and their subsequent retail value; a real time report showing upcoming ingredient expiration dates or use by dates that are quickly approaching.
We will also need to generate reports that show our use of specific ingredients for any specific period of time (for example: how much maple syrup did I use in calendar year 2024).
We have about 50 different food SKUs (a completed food unit) that we need to track; in addition we likely have about 20 raw ingredients (ie salt, sugar, maple syrup, dark chocolate, raw nuts, etc). that need to be tracked.
