Overview: Vogue’s Fashion Editor is a critical and creative thinker who is always looking ahead to what’s next in the industry. This person will lead the editorial direction and management of the Vogue app, with a specific focus on fashion driven engagement and interactive features, and oversee the editorial strategy and distribution of Vogue’s newsletters to promote engagement across Vogue’s key verticals. The editor should be a fashion and culture hound who is up to date on news and trends across fashion, film, tv, music, and the arts; interests in sustainability, technology, and fashion’s social impact are also encouraged. They should have a deep knowledge of fashion and keen instincts for the next big thing, and an ability to think critically and creatively about how audiences engage with fashion through media and technology. Job description: Collaborate with Vogue editors to manage editorial strategy for the Vogue app, including maintaining edit lineups, overseeing all daily content updates, working cross-functionally to promote the app across platforms, managing the daily Runway Genius quiz and Weekly news quiz, and monitoring performance. Ideate and execute community-first content initiatives across the app including Group Chats, Polls, and the Contributors feed in addition to managing all app-first content initiatives. Work cross-functionally with editorial, product, and marketing teams to refine existing features and conceive new ones to enhance the Vogue app experience & its community. Lead editorial strategy for the Vogue newsletters including the ideation of new offerings, write and edit the current newsletters and find innovative ways to engage this community. Work closely with the Director of Audience Development to strategize and A/B test design templates & content, while using data to inform this strategy. Report to key stakeholders performance metrics for both the Vogue app & Vogue’s newsletter on a regular basis. Skills and qualifications: 3+ years of writing experience, preferably at a magazine or website Excellent writing and copy editing skills. Experience working on tight deadlines and executing strong copy under pressure Adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic, and digital-first environment Digital know-how, familiarity with CMS systems, email service providers and data platforms Competitive knowledge of fashion’s newsmakers, culture’s tastemakers, and cross-industry trends. Highly comfortable pitching ideas and brainstorming with the Vogue team Highly collaborative and comfortable working with various departments, from social media to photo, video, and analytics Experience with newsletters is encouraged Experience in or comfortability with project management Experience working with product and tech teams Familiarity with the Vogue app and competitive products (this person should know apps across the market) The expected base salary range for this position is from $80,000-$90,000.
