Corporate Compliance Officer, North Central Division

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Build collaborative relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to divisional leadership, laboratory operations, phlebotomy, and commercial personnel at all levels.
  • Provide proactive compliance guidance and support on a broad range of clinical laboratory arrangements with hospitals/health systems, physicians, medical clinics, and other healthcare provider clients.
  • Lead compliance-related diligence and integration activities for health system and regional laboratory acquisitions within the division.
  • Engage with other departments, including Marketing, Finance, IT, Revenue Cycle Management, Law, Contracts, Science and Technology, and Quality to advance cross-functional initiatives and projects in support of Labcorp Diagnostics business objectives within the division.
  • Engage with senior Corporate Compliance leaders to ensure consistent communication, reporting, and alignment on divisional compliance activities and initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough internal investigations into potential compliance program violations and other allegations of misconduct, including those arising from governmental inquiries, internal and third-party audits, and/or Compliance Action Line reports.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Human Resources, and other stakeholders to appropriately remediate compliance issues and implement correction action plans
  • Prepare summaries, maintain investigation records, and support reporting to senior compliance leadership.
  • Implement compliance training programs and educational opportunities for new and existing employees to ensure a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and Labcorp policies and procedures.
  • Monitor state and federal healthcare laws and regulations that apply to Labcorp’s operations within the division.
  • Engage with the division on Corporate Compliance Department enterprise-wide initiatives to promote a culture of compliance and ethics.
  • Support compliance audit activities within the division to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Implement ongoing monitoring programs focused on key compliance risk areas, including provider financial relationships and billing arrangements.
  • Work with divisional leaders to strengthen processes based on audit and monitoring outcomes.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  •  Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a healthcare compliance-related role, preferable in the clinical laboratory or diagnostics industry
  • 5 years Experience with implementing the Office of Inspector General’s “seven elements†of an effective corporate compliance program for healthcare organizations, including policies and procedures, training, auditing, monitoring, and conducting internal investigations.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and/or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC).
  • Additional Job Standards
  • Ability to work within the geography of the division.
  • Ability to work at times from the Dublin, OH Labcorp regional laboratory.
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws, regulations, and standards relevant to clinical laboratory compliance programs, including healthcare fraud and abuse (e.g., Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute), HIPAA/data privacy, Medicare/Medicaid coding and billing requirements, and CLIA/CAP requirements.

The Corporate Compliance Officer, North Central Division serves as the lead compliance business partner for a division that provides clinical laboratory services to patients and healthcare provider clients across Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and western Pennsylvania. The Corporate Compliance Officer is responsible for implementing, managing, and continuously enhancing Labcorp’s corporate compliance program within the division, delivering proactive guidance and support to advance Labcorp’s mission of improving health and improving lives in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and high ethical standards.
