Content Moderator (ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER I)

This vacancy will be used to fill current and future permanent and contractual positions.

POSITION DUTIES
The Content Moderator works for the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS), Intelligence and Investigative Division’s (IID), Analytical and Technical unit. The position supports the DPSCS correctional facility tablet/communication program for incarcerated individuals (II) in our custody. The Content Moderator reviews text messaging, photographs, and audio content IIs received and sent. Reviews content received and sent by II’s through their state-issued tablets, that may be deemed inappropriate. Screen content for messages that contain sensitive and explicit material involving expressions that are discriminatory, offensive, abhorrent, or graphic. Monitors II calls for safety and security concerns, as well as, investigatory pertinent information. Escalates questionable findings to the Chief or supervisor.
- Independently plans, develops, conducts or supervises the conduct of studies and analyses of agency programs, organizations, procedures or systems;
- Formulates final reports and effective recommendations based on analyses conducted;
- Prepares or supervises the preparation and development of management tools such as procedural manuals, statistical reports, work-flow charts, performance measurement criteria or organization charts;
- Participates in the formulation, establishment or modification of program goals and objectives through analysis of alternatives, trends, available resources and projected program needs;
- Participates in the program planning process by developing forecasts, proposals or procedures for orderly growth and expansion;
- Confers with other administrative officials, program heads, staff specialists or others in order to exchange information pertaining to the program, or interpret policies or offer recommendations;
- Advises departmental officials regarding administrative practices, procedures or policies;
- Coordinates inter-agency transactions and provides liaison with officials in other agencies in the State, legislature, the federal government, private industry or local government agencies;
- May provide assistance to a higher-level administrator in the formulation and preparation of an agency's budget or portions of the budget;
- Performs other related duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
