This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: Texas (USA) Job Type Full-time Description A small business with a 45-year history as a first-class materials science and applied research and development firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented scientist to join our team. This role involves working in a chemistry/materials laboratory setting to aid in product development and conduct various tests, measurements, and inspections. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a lab environment, the ability to work independently, follow established procedures, document and present results accurately, and collaborate effectively with others. In this role, the ability to adapt and pivot between diverse projects is paramount. Key Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: • Perform as a contributor in a chemistry/polymer science research and development lab. • Set up and operate production/test/measurement apparatus and perform chemical, thermal and mechanical tests. • Accurately record, document, and communicate data, ensuring compliance with defined methods and procedures. • Prepare reports and present recorded data in a prescribed format. • Operate laboratory equipment such as, chemistry equipment, thermal and mechanical equipment, vacuum pumps, and environmental chambers. • Troubleshoot basic technical issues and develop solutions as needed. • Maintain chemical and sample inventory, and perform routine lab maintenance such as cleaning glassware and equipment. • Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe laboratory environment. • Assist with other project-related tasks as required. • This is an In-Person position and is NOT a remote role. For additional information, see: Requirements Key Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or Masters degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience. • Experience working in a chemistry laboratory environment is required. • Experience in a Research and Development environment with chemical formulation a plus. • Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems by combining scientific knowledge and hands-on experiments to undertake specific tasks and projects. • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills. • Ability to analyze problems, troubleshoot, and develop practical solutions. • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Effective technical communication skills, interpersonal communication skills, presentation skills, and technical writing skills. • Proficient in MS Windows, Office Products, and familiarity with arenaflex OS. • Regularly detail and communicate results through laboratory notebooks, periodic project reports, and presentations. • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a team-oriented environment. • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and able to use a respirator. • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Industrial Security clearance.
