Business Intelligence Analyst

The Business Intelligence Analyst plays a critical role in supporting Zoro's mission by enabling data-driven decisions throughout the company and collaborates with various stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and maintenance of data models, reports, and dashboards in tools, such as Looker
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective data solutions that drive actionable insights
  • Partner with stakeholders to validate data accuracy, identify discrepancies, and support data quality improvement initiatives
  • Partner with senior BI Team members to learn best practices for BI development, testing, and documentation
  • Assist with the automation of recurring reporting processes to improve efficiency
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing by documenting processes and insights
  • Explore and utilize AI-assisted solutions (e.g., conversational analytics, generative AI tools) to enhance self-service analytics and automate processes

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Business
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and principles of data visualization
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (Looker preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and curiosity about data
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical partners
  • Advanced SQL
  • Proficiency in Looker and LookML
  • Familiarity with scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
  • Knowledge of data warehousing principles and cloud data platforms (BigQuery desired)
  • Experience with generative AI tools for data analysis, automation, or insights generation
