Before applying, please review the following important details to ensure this opportunity is a good fit for you.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a traditional employee role. Drivers are responsible for using their own personal vehicle and smartphone to complete delivery routes using the Amazon Flex App.

Driver Requirements

Drivers must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have active car insurance
  • Have a clean driving record
  • Pass a background check
  • Be able to lift packages up to 50 lbs
  • Be comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions

Delivery Routes

Delivery routes typically contain 20–100 packages per day and must be completed the same day they are received. Routes may be completed anytime during the day, but all deliveries must be finished before 9:30 PM.

Drivers pick up packages at a designated location north of Whiteville, NC and deliver within a 10-mile radius outside the city limits.

Pay

Drivers are paid weekly. Drivers typically earn the equivalent of $15–$18 per hour after mileage reimbursement, depending on route size and completion time.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate your personal vehicle to transport packages to various locations.
  • Load and unload packages up to 50 lbs., manually lifting ensuring proper handling and safety.
  • Follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and company policies to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting recipients professionally, and ensuring satisfaction upon delivery.
  • Verify delivery details using your personal smart device, and maintain accurate logs of all deliveries electronically in the Amazon Flex App.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with knowledge of route driving best practices (preferred).
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to lift heavy items safely during load & unload activities; physical stamina is essential.
  • Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, moving items, and vehicle operation.
