<h2>Job Description</h2><div>Job Description<div><p>The Accounting Manager manages all day-to-day accounting operations for Sun City Grand Community Association. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and leading process improvement initiatives. The Accounting Manager supervises accounting and purchasing staff, drives the development and refinement of accounting procedures, and manages financial systems  improvements and/or implementations to enhance operational efficiency and transparency for this active adult community.</p><p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br />•    Comply with the fiscal provisions of the Sun City Grand Community Association governing documents;<br />•    Oversee daily accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, fixed assets, project accounting, fund accounting, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations;<br />•    Manage staff and processes to ensure timely posting of assessments, payments, and vendor transactions;<br />•    Prepare and review monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP and HOA governing documents;<br />•    Provide variance analysis, financial insights, and key metrics for management reporting;<br />•    Oversee reserve fund tracking and reporting;<br />•    Lead the development and documentation of standardized accounting procedures to support scalability, compliance, segregation of duties, and strong internal controls;<br />•    Implement and optimize financial systems and tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities;<br />•    Collaborate with IT and management teams on system improvements/integrations for purchase order tracking, fixed asset accounting, assessments, online payments, and vendor management;<br />•    Assist in developing the annual budget, including forecasting and expense monitoring;<br />•    Support external audits and annual tax filings, ensuring regulatory compliance;<br />•    Supervise, train, and mentor staff of three including accounts payable, staff accountant/accounts receivable, and asset/purchasing manager, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement;<br />•    Conduct performance evaluations and establish departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives; and<br />•    Perform other duties as assigned.</p><p><br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:<br />•    Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.<br />•    4–6 years of progressive accounting experience (HOA, property management, or large-scale community operations a plus).<br />•    Supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff.<br />•    Proven experience in process development, workflow optimization, and financial system implementation or migration.<br />•    Advanced skills with financial software systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).<br />•    Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, HOA accounting practices, and applicable state regulations.<br />•    Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.<br />•    Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.<br />•    Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with non-financial team members and stakeholders.<br />•    Strong project management and change leadership skills.<br />•    Analytical problem-solving mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.<br />•    Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.<br />•    Works well balancing multiple priorities while working under pressure and time-sensitive deadlines.<br /> </p></div></div>
