Account Manager, Port Operations
About the position
Join Royal Caribbean Group as an Account Manager for Port Operations, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting port operations and development. This full-time position is based in Miami, FL, and requires a blend of administrative, analytical, fiscal, and logistical skills. As the Account Manager, you will serve as the primary representative for Port Operations, collaborating closely with RCI and CEL Charter teams. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the financial, logistical, and operational aspects during the setup, execution, and post-charter operations. You will also be instrumental in onboarding current and new vendors, as well as providing training and ongoing support to various departments within RCG. Effective communication is crucial in this role, as you will be responsible for conveying important information to senior management, other operating groups, and external stakeholders. You will provide operational support related to port agency stevedoring and manage the annual financial budget, including monthly forecasts. Your duties will also involve processing special operating invoices, auditing financial documents, and representing the corporation at various industry events and governmental meetings. In addition to administrative tasks, you will engage in pre-planning and operational setup for ports, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place before the start of the season. This includes coordinating security, stevedoring, and port agency operations. You will maintain direct communication with senior shipboard management to plan turnaround operations and will be required to travel to turnaround locations for site inspections, which will constitute approximately 20-30% of your travel time. Continuous improvement in operations will be a key focus, as you will monitor and evaluate turnaround operations and make recommendations to enhance service efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational, administrative, analytical, and fiscal support related to port agency stevedoring and Port Operations annual financial budget, including monthly forecasts. ,
- Process special operating invoices associated with stevedoring according to audit and compliance guidelines. ,
- Audit and verify all supporting backup against financial forecast/plan. ,
- Represent the corporation at selected governmental meetings, association functions, cruise industry events, and travel industry conventions as required. ,
- Perform pre-planning and operational setup for respective ports prior to the start of the season, including security, stevedoring, and port agency. ,
- Identify turnarounds that require corporate presence and interact directly with senior shipboard management in planning turnaround operations via conference calls. ,
- Travel to turnaround locations to oversee port operations and perform site inspections for planning purposes (approximately 20-30% travel). ,
- Monitor and evaluate turnaround operations through site inspections, Brand Quality Audits, shipboard reports, and vendor reports. ,
- Maintain constant rapport with stevedores, security, and port agency on turn operations and issues. ,
- Strive for continuous improvement in operations and perform special operational and analysis projects as requested. ,
- Make recommendations to improve overall service and efficiency of operations. ,
- Plan, develop, and execute training related to the Port Operations Electronic Requisition System (ERS) for internal and external stakeholders. ,

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, finance, accounting, or directly related experience is required. ,
- 3-5 years' experience in related operations, contract negotiations, budgetary planning, vendor management, and/or analysis work required. ,
- Shipboard experience is helpful. ,
- Minimum of two years of Port Operations experience. ,
- Detail-oriented to ensure accuracy. ,
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise proper judgment. ,
